We are committed to sourcing coffee coming from certified farms while supporting supply chain partners and farmers to achieve certification. We acknowledge that certification is an important foundation to address key sustainability issues. Yet, additional initiatives are needed to overcome systemic issues, which we address through our farm-level programs.

Pelican Rouge Coffee is certified by Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and or Organic certification schemes.

Farmers’ Corner: Fairtrade Coffee Associations

Pelican Rouge sourced Fairtrade highest volumes of coffee in 2021/2022 from five cooperatives of farmers in Central and South America. The Fairtrade approach includes a Fairtrade Premium – an additional sum of money that farmers and workers invest in projects they select according to the needs of the farmers and their communities. Selecta is committed to understanding the needs of the farmers and establishing long-term commercial relations with these cooperatives to increase positive impact.
